Mr. Meir Shitrit

Chairman

Meir Sheetrit, who holds a master’s degree in public policy, served as the head of the Yavne Council and became the city’s first mayor. He was a member of the Knesset for over thirty years, during which he held senior positions, including Chairman of the Coalition, Chairman of the Likud faction, and Deputy Speaker of the Knesset.

In the Israeli government, he served as Minister of Finance, Minister of Intelligence and was responsible for the Atomic Energy Commission, Minister of Justice, Minister of Transportation, Minister of Education, Culture, Youth, and Sports, Minister of Construction and Housing, and Minister of the Interior.

In addition to his roles in the government and the Knesset, Sheetrit also served as Treasurer of the Jewish Agency and the World Zionist Organization.

Currently, he is the Head of the Specialization Program at the Ruppin Academic Center.

Israel Ben Yehuda

Board Member

Palmach fighter in the War of Independence, born in Ramat HaKovesh. Moved to Ashdod in 1964. CEO of Acrilan from 1974-1984, CEO of Frutarom from 1985-1997.

Chaim Molcho

Board Member

Entrepreneur and businessman. Owner and CEO of companies in the fields of high-tech and fintech for 35 years. Co-founder of the “Round Table Ashdod” organization for helping at-risk youth.

Lawyer Orit Zino

Board Member

Holds an L.L.B. in law and was admitted to the Israeli Bar Association in 2011.
In the years 2012-2018 she served as CEO of the Boni Arim Group Ltd. Currently, she runs an independent law office specializing in real estate and civil-commercial law, and serves as Vice Chair of the Real Estate Committee in the Southern District of the Israeli Bar Association.

Ella Avrahami

Audit Committee

Born in Tashkent, immigrated to Israel in 1978 with a degree in chemistry. Worked for many years at Bank Hapoalim and served as a member of the Ashdod City Council from 1998-2003. Currently a board member at the “Yad Lebanim” Foundation and a member of the Ashdod Foundation’s Audit Committee.

Dan Rosenberg

Audit Committee

Graduate of the Hebrew University in Economics and Business Administration, resident of Ashdod for over 50 years. Member of the Elta management for over 25 years, managing several key sectors and representing Elta in various organizations.

Galit Erez

CEO of the Ashdod Foundation

Holds an MBA in Business Administration. With over 15 years of experience in the business sector in senior management roles at leading organizations in the industry, including Director of Territories and Services at Cellcom, Head of Strategic Clients Division at Dun & Bradstreet, and Deputy CEO at a leading media company.
